Selection & Switching to other courses

Selection &Switching to other courses

Aspirants choosing a program should choose a neighborhood that matches their general academic interests and background. The baccalaureate is the key to function as a general preliminary step within the quest for major career goals. Students within the Bachelor of Arts degree follow a multi-track program granting them to register in a minimum of two and as many as four different Major and Minor Concentrations. This enables them to pick courses from a spread of areas in their first year, from where they're going to be ready to narrow their choice afterward.

Students must become conversant with the tutorial regulations of the School of Arts. An intended course plan might not be suitable if it requires the completion of too many credits from other faculties or if it's an ex-directory within the school working calendar.

It is possible to change a program if necessary, provided that there has been consultation with the appropriate academic advisors!

Undecided students should consider the following:

  • Preferred subjects and therefore the departmental programs which include them
  • Whether they need previously completed courses in these streams
  • Programs that contain quite one among these subjects
  • Whether one program stands out apart from all others
  • Whether an Honours or a school program may be a feasible option
  • Whether there's room for electives
  • Whether programs are associated with vocational or personal interests
  • Academic and career goals and whether certain academic preconditions have got to be achieved to pursue them
  • The intention is to develop certain skills (analytical reasoning, writing, verbal communication, teamwork, independent work, laboratory research, computer skills, etc.)
  • Program requirements that can specialize in weak points (e.g., an Arts student considering a program requiring statistics if a student isn't strong in math, etc.)

Alternatively, one can consult the following resources

  • Departmental academic advisors
  • Career Planning Service
  • Counselling Service
  • Reference Librarians
