You must use a minimum of 14 sources The essay must consist of an introduction, main body, and conclusion, and it must also have a coherent structure. All sources used in your response must be cited appropriately and listed IN FULL in a bibliography. You must use only articles from scholarly publications, including peer-review Unacceptable sources include lecture notes, encyclopaedias, and unverifiable internet sources (e.g. Wikipedia). Each essay must be written in at least 12 point font, with appropriate margins and at least 1½ spacing. In the mid 18th century, the European Empires and its colonies used to dominate the Atlantic World. Monarchies used to rule Europe and many of those monarchies had absolute powers. There was a series of revolution which broke out in the beginning of 1776. Europe and Atlantic World were shaken by these revolutions. As Europe countries and its colonies were earlier dominated by aristocratic regimes, the ideologies and principles of self governance and equality i.e. democracy was welcomed and respected by them. As a result of these revolutions, all the absolute monarchies were destroyed and demolished. It led to the emergence of independent republics in Americas. The battle of Marengo where Napoleon was victorious tipped the balance and democracy was partly succeeded in Europe. The battle of Marengo resulted in the failure of great conservative and aristocratic rule (Appleby, J, & Wood, G S 1993).

The end of 18th century was marked by series of Revolutions. The most significant revolutions were the American Revolution and Industrial Revolution. One of the most significant revolutions that took place between c1760-1840 was the American Revolution. The American Revolution began in the year 1775 as there was an open conflict between the thirteen colonies and the Great Britain (Churchill, W 1957).
