The heat exchanger is widely used in various industries for cooling, refrigeration, power generation, transportation and chemical-processing due to elevated stress and elevated hotness application. in this project, the research, design and analysis have done through computer software and CAD application. The aim of this project is to design the casing and cylinder type heat exchanger with the different segmental distortions and to study the flow of fluid when it flows through the heat exchanger tube. The fluid dynamic analysis and simulation have been performed by using ANSYS and Solid works software and obtain the heat transfer rate in each case of fluid dynamics.

By considering all design aspects and computational fluid dynamic result, the heat exchanger design engineer can enhance overall performance by providing the cross-flow area in a suitable manner so that flow of fluid will not remain parallel to the tubes. That maybe permit the outer shell fluid flow which has the noticeable contact with the flow of fluid passes inside the shell and it will enhance the overall performance and heat transfer rate of casing and cylinder type heat exchanger.
