Introduction:

Understanding business ethics is an important factor in order to run an excellent business operation. According to an analysis of the business organization, it is observed that business ethics is an essential part to make any important decisions regarding business development. Similarly, leaders are the main role to run an organization. For that reason, understanding and right practicing leadership skill are as much as important like understanding business ethics. The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate the articles regarding leadership skill and understand its value for running a business organization. In-depth analysis of both articles has been conducted in the critique part of this assignment. Along with the analysis of articles, there is a discussion on the author's point of view regarding leadership skill. Additionally, the understanding of the applied theories and examples of leadership skill also has been explored in the discussion further. Considering the theory of leadership skill real-life examples have shown the proper implementation and necessity of the leadership skill in the business organization. Most importantly, there is a discussion part which is dealing with the learning experience from the analysis of articles regarding leadership. This part is also containing the realize examples for better understanding. Finally, the discussion is concluded towards the end.

Critique:

i. Overview of the articles:

From the understanding of the first article, it is seen that the author has evaluated the concept of transformative leadership for conducting the operations in the organization. In this discussion, the author has provided a clear understanding of ethical behavior and ethical decision-making process in the organization. The researcher has used six perspectives of leadership strategy in the organization to calculate long term wealth creation. Cam Caldwell (2011), has developed this research based on the ethically based model for improving the business operation of the organization. The researcher mainly discussed the level 5 leadership model which is helping for upgrading the skills and working process of the entire organization. Moreover, application of the transformative leadership model helps for improving the conditions of employees of the organizations also (Caldwell et al. 2012). The process helps for implicating the welfare program for the employees. Apart from that, the researcher has used the discussion of different leadership theories for understanding the process for modifying the organizational structure. The researcher has noticed that the leading theory has helped with making a good employee relationship. Additionally, this discussion has focused on modifying the entire organizational process in an ethical leadership style which will engage the employees in all types of the organizational process. The researcher has gathered information from the data collected from a survey of the internal structure of an organization, where the researcher has observed that leadership style is an important factor for running a successive business operation (Antonakis and Day, 2017). Along with the fact, the researcher has also discussed the covenantal leadership style. The main discussion in the passage has helped for conducting the comparison in different leadership style. The discussion for different leadership styles has helped for deducting the best leadership quality among different of them. The research basically used the comparison of the leading factors which has helped for recovering the factors based on the organizational process. Understanding the factors it has been observed that it is very much important to evaluate the different process of leadership strategy. Based on the leadership strategy the researcher has developed the findings of the research.

On the other hand, according to John M. Schaubroeck (2012), the leadership skill of the organization helps for developing the organizational structure. The researcher has stated that the development of the internal behavior of the organization is very much dependent on the ethical decision-making process of the leaders and the management people in the organization based on the findings of the research. In order to evaluate the leadership strategy of the business organization, the researcher has used the model linking to ethical leadership (Schaubroeck et al. 2012). As per the researcher, the ethical leadership strategy helps for operating business progressively as the employees get the chance for being updated. Apart from that, the researcher has gathered the information from 2,572 U.S. Army soldiers and the gathered information showed that the ethical leadership process helps for motivating the employees for any kind of operation. Moreover, the ethical process of improving the skills of people also helps with developing the behavior of the employees. From the analysis of the researcher, it is showed that the ethical behavior of the leaders also helps with modifying the hierarchical level of the business organization. The author has noticed that the ethical practice of leadership skills helped for including the culture in the operational process which indirectly provides the support for improving skills of employees with more professionalism. Apart from that, this inclusion of ethnic leadership skill also helped for improving the workplace culture that is very much important for maintaining a good management system.

The journal is about the leadership and the importance of leadership in an organization. The author showed that proper leadership is mandatory to reach the desired success for an organization. A true leader manages ethical behavior as well as the professional behavior of all the employees. A leader may follow different leadership style but the task and responsibilities are same that is to manage all the employees to improve their performance as well as the organizational growth and create a proper and healthy work environment. In this journal, the data is collected from the United States army soldiers’ camp. There are three organizational levels to perform the responsibilities properly and in a mannered way. The author mentioned the importance to manage the inner as well as the outer culture and behavior of an organization. The reader gets to know about some gradually beneficiary way of leadership style. Mainly the journal shows how a leader manages all the units of all the levels by influencing and motivating them. It actually depends on a leader and his or her influence that whether all the members of an organization would agree on any decision or not for the betterment of an organization. The ethical leadership also follow a hierarchy level to influence all the units of an organization and this is how the leader can actually embed the shared thoughts into the heads of all the employees by their motivation. The transmission of thoughts among the employees of all level is a leader’s main function and the journal beautifully mentioned how a leader does that.

As the organization here is The United States Army camp so the management of the ethical behavior of all the units is very important to fulfill the mission (Banks et al. 2016). Miscommunication and misunderstanding can lead all the people in a dangerous side as army forces itself are there for a Nobel cause. Army people are known for their ethical behavior and responsibility and unity. Behind such reputation, there are ethical leaders who shape the behaviors of those people. These leaders have the capability to listen to all the members of all the units and take everyone's decision but have also the capacity to choose the right decision from the options for the betterment of the organization. The leader perfectly embeds into the heads of all the members that the chosen decision would help the organization to reach its goals in a faster way by his or her motivational speech. A leader eliminates the disappointments of the members whose idea is not chosen by his or her pitch. The elimination of disappointment is very essential as a person's ego can spoil the whole mission. Ego and jealousy make people feel that other people's opinion matter more than their opinion. If the ego comes in the middle then those persons whose idea was not chosen will not work as per the plan and decision are taken by the leader. Then the mission would have to face hindrances to fulfill the goal. Always the suggested way of the majority of people is not approved by the leader if he or she sees some difficulties in that suggested way.

In both journals, the authors have focused on the application of ethical leadership skills. Moreover, the researchers have basically argued on the application on ethical leadership skill which influences the performance of the organization in a positive direction. Apart from that, the researchers have stated that the analysis of different leadership theory and ethical model of decision making is very much necessary for understanding the suitable leadership skill for the betterment of the organization (Caldwell et al. 2012). From the understanding gathered from the above analysis, it is confirmed that the application of the transformative leadership skill is an important factor for the betterment of the organizations. Furthermore, the ethical leadership skill also helps for improving and influencing the behavior of the employees which is very much important in order to run an excellence operation.

ii. Discussion on author's stance means for leaders, followers, organizations, and society:

            Based on the analysis of both articles it is confirmed that ethical decision making and ethical leadership skill is majorly required in order to run an extraordinary business operation or any organizational process (Priest and Gass, 2017). Information gathered from the point of view of both authors showed that the implementation of leadership skills and theories helps for improving organizational process. It can be agreed that leadership skill helps for influencing the performance of the employees and the fellow people as well as the organizational performance also can be improved. For instance, in an organization, a leader uses the motivational skill for improving the skill level of the employees. Apart from this, they also use the appraisal giving process which fosters the performance level. Employees works hard in order to achieve the appraisal and indirectly it helps for improving the performance of organization. It has been observed that the implementation of the leadership skill in the organizational process helped for maintaining the hierarchy level of an organization which is very much important to improve organizational structure. The authors have suggested that the implementation of ethical leadership skill is also important to improve the productivity of an organization (Schaubroeck et al. 2012). Based on the information gathered from the analysis of the articles it is observed that authors have also advised applying participative and transformational leadership skill in order to maintain a healthy workplace. It is observed that the inclusion of local culture in the organizational process also helps to modify the productivity of an organization. Additionally, from the analysis of the articles, it has been observed that the implementation of the ethical leadership also helped for modifying behavior and the internal structure of the organization. In addition, the researcher has stated that the application of ethical leadership skill also helps with developing the skills and knowledge of the employees by providing training. Apart from that, this ethical leadership skill also helps with developing the organizational process as well.

iii. The gathered learning experience from the articles:

            From the discussion, it has been observed that the members of all the units should choose those people as leaders on whom they have trust and respect. There are leaders in all hierarchy level for the betterment of the performance of all the level and those leaders have an understanding with one another. In this way, the members of all units of the army of the United States learn to sacrifice and ethical behavior (Hoch et al. 2018). There is a huge difference between a boss and a leader. A leader is humble and should have the capacity to lead from the front. A leader cannot just order and sit back to relax as he or she has the responsibility to take a lead from the front as per his or her plan. If any person can show any difficulty and hindrance in the chosen way of a leader with logic then that person must be given the freedom to speak and the leader must consider the logic to avoid the hindrances which can come in the future (Hawkins, 2017). So, the humble nature of a leader is also very essential. All the members including the leaders of the army of The United States have the capability to accept the work done by them and also has the capability to take the responsibility of their work whether the result of the work comes in a positive way or negative way.  That actually helps the whole unit to be united.

            One can learn several things from this article journal. It actually shows how army people are so united and why they have the capability to set an example (Caldwell et al. 2012). The inner deep scenario of that behavior and stories behind the success stories of the army people are mentioned in this journal.

Conclusion:

            The entire discussion is focusing on the application of the leadership skill on the organizational process. However, there is a reference of two different scenarios yet the discussion showed the importance of applying leadership skills in the organizational process. The discussion is developed based on the systematic analysis of two articles which showed that the implementation of different leadership skill helped for modifying the performance of the entire team and organization as well. In addition, from the discussion, the learning behavior of the discussion is also has been summarised in the discussion further. The gathered information from the analysis showed that application of leadership skill aids assistance for improving entire performance of an organization apart from that research also stated that leadership skill also provides the support for improving behavioral factor the employees.
